JR COX
James (J.R.) Cox is a prominent figure in the Canadian firearms community, celebrated for his contributions as a retailer, range owner, manufacturer and industry pundit, however his journey in the shooting industry had humble beginnings as a competitor and coach for the Canadian Armed Forces marksmanship programs and as an instructor for the Canadian Firearm Safety Course. Since 1993, he has been dedicated to teaching responsible gun ownership and safety practices in Canada.
J.R. opened his first shooting range, The Shooting Edge, in Calgary in 2001, followed by Target Sports Canada in Ontario. His other ventures include manufacturing and he is developing a suite of premium non-restricted firearms under the Sterling Arms International banner.
J.R. brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to his instruction. His expertise, passion, and leadership make him an invaluable instructor in the Canadian firearms possession and acquisition license safety course.
Laryssa Yanchak
Laryssa has spent the bulk of her career freelancing in Theatre and Film as an Armourer and Stunt Co-ordinator.
When not teaching actors how to sword-fight and shoot guns on set, Laryssa will find herself dreaming of 3-Gun and Cowboy Action or being in the classroom sharing her passion for firearms (both modern and historical) along with instructing students firearm safety and the intricacies involved in the shooting sports and firearm ownership.
